About Me
Born in Minn. I lived my entire childhood in the same small town in Iowa until we moved to Texas in ’83. I am a Life scout for life. I enjoy the finer things in life like fishing, camping, being with friends and family. I spend most of my free time doing something scout related these days. Yes, it’s because I want to.
Interests
Boy Scouts, fishing, woodworking, looking for old scout stuff at antique shops, antiquing in general is pretty cool, cooking, surfing the net for scouting related sites like thedump.scoutscan.com.
Favorite Movies
There are so many to enjoy for what they offer. I’ve been around for a little while so it’s hard to pick any one movie as the most outstanding. I remember JAWS made a big impact on me as a kid but it seems a silly movie now. TRON was a big hit when I was a kid and the first STAR WARS was so far advanced technically it was amazing.
Favorite Music
Pretty varied, I’m open to most music, I don’t like Rap/Gangster music but was there when it first came out. I really enjoy groups from the 70’s-90’s like Lynyrd Skynyrd, RUSH, .38 special, The Cars, REO, Boston, Cheap Trick, Tora Tora (they only did one album but it was really good), Eagles, 3Doors Down, AC/DC, Metallica, I have been enlightened by several boys in the troop to new groups that I like as well, the names of those groups slip me at this point.
Favorite Books
Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn by Mark Twain, Stories by Edgar Allen Poe, 1937 Scouting handbook for boys, 1967 Boy scout field book, US Army Survival manual, Old scouting books of any kind are the best. They have so much stuff to offer about how scouting was and how it and life has changed over the years. It's like opening a time capsule.
